With Halloween looming around the corner, I wrote two 100-word horror stories. Read them if you dare!

Trigger Warning: Violence, death, gore, and alcohol references

Gabby’s Shadow

Sadie was in her bedroom preparing for her and Max’s work party. Five minutes after they should have left, a shrill scream rang down the stairs.

“Sweetie! Are you okay?!” Max yelled, sprinting up the stairs.

“Yeah. Just a minute, hun!”

But the response wasn’t from Sadie’s angelic voice. It was the booming voice of her vengeful friend, Gabby.

Gabby’s green shadow exited the bedroom wearing Sadie’s blood-soaked dress. In each hand, she squeezed half of a human heart.

“G-Gabby, what-”

The shadow laughed and rammed into Max, sending him through the railing. His body cracked on the floor below.

Adam’s Angry Spirit

Adam, Caden, and Tony were bandmates. After Adam left for college, Caden hated him for abandoning the band. The following week, Adam died from alcohol poisoning on campus.

One year later, Caden and Tony rehearsed for a concert. That day, Tony’s throat burned. His voice fluctuated, which angered Caden.
