A Prayer for the Changes This Year

Give us wisdom, strength, courage, safety, and healing.

God, I come to you with a desire for your wisdom and guidance. Now that we are a month into 2025, many of us are depressed, anxious, confused, and angry about the changes and tragedies in the world. Many are insecure about jobs, finances, relationships, shelter, health, rights, politics, and insurance.

Please give us signs of hope and peace. Bring us close to the people whose actions and values align with yours. We need people who treat others with kindness, respect, and inclusion.

Change the hearts and actions of the hypocrites and false prophets. Don’t let them steer us onto the wrong path. Give us the courage to speak up against injustice while remaining slow to anger.

Help all of us believers share our faith in the right way. Instead of forcing our beliefs on nonbelievers, help us express them through patience, forgiveness, humility, and love.

Please heal those who are sick and grieving. Open our hearts to your plans for our lives, even if they’re not what we had in mind for ourselves. Keep us safe in your arms for the rest of 2025 and beyond.
