Today, I learned about a “drabble” for the first time. What is a drabble, you ask? It is a fiction story that is exactly 100 words. Here is my first attempt at it.

“Anna, can we talk about your grades?”

“S-sorry! I’ve been— ”

“Heartbroken,” Mrs. Page interrupted. “I read about your breakup. I’m sorry.”

“I loved Scott.”

“I understand. I went through a breakup in high school, too. But I eventually met someone new.”

“That’s great. But what if that doesn’t happen for me?”

“What if it does? No matter what happens, I know good things will happen for you.”

“How do you know?”

“You’re a kind, smart, and hardworking person. Those are wonderful qualities.”

Mrs. Page let me rewrite two essays. One essay was about my desire for love in the future.

Thank you for reading this story. If you enjoyed it, check out more of my content below.
